Tom Dye
CEO
Albanwise Farming Ltd

Starting as a harvest student, working during my summer holidays, I have been involved with Albanwise for over 24 years.

After University I gained experience in both grain and potato marketing before joining as an Assistant Farm Manager in 2007. I was able to improve my knowledge and skills; learning from the operators and senior managers, coupled with external training. Becoming a Director of AFL in October 2009 was a major milestone for me, and then a management re-organisation late in 2014 gave me the opportunity to set the strategy for the business for the next phase of its development.

From January 2015 I took on the role of Managing Director, a role that has already provided me with a number of exciting challenges and opportunities. My major interests lie with efficiency and staff psychology and motivation.

There is a tremendously positive team within AFL and I look forward to leading us through the opportunities future challenges will bring.

Jason Turnbull
Yorkshire Farms Director
Albanwise Farming Ltd

My experience in agribusiness management spans back almost 20 years. I have had significant experience in all crop production and livestock across three geographical areas with a large corporate. This was followed by six years on a private estate adding road haulage and shoot management to the skills list.

I now oversee all farming operations across AFL Yorkshire Estates and thoroughly enjoy working with our very skilled and driven management team. The seed potato business in North Yorkshire is a new and very exciting challenge for me and one that I enjoy a great deal. Outside work I am very keen on sport although more of a spectator in some cases these days, anything involving a ball, being on the water or the mountains and field sports are of great interest.

Shepherds Health & Safety Ltd has been working with Albanwise Farming Ltd, since 2008 to provide health and safety services.

This is achieved by regular visits throughout the year and spending individual time with all members of staff from farm operatives up to MD level. Health & Safety is driven from the highest levels within Albanwise Farming Ltd, and is of paramount importance to us. We manage this through a bespoke, documented, Occupational Health & Safety Management System, which reflects the activities undertaken by the company, ensuring that workplace hazards are identified and that risks are controlled to a safe level.

Any concerns are highlighted to management by an open door policy and coupled with our regular health and safety meetings with all staff, as well as regular audits. Albanwise has an extensive regular training program for all staff within the business, and this has contributed to a very good safety record. This culture has ensured that all employees continue to develop and improve their Health & Safety Management System.
